Includiverse at Careers Inspiration Day

Careers Inspiration Day

The Includiverse team was delighted to receive an invitation to a careers fair for secondary school students. Marketing Executive Ceri attended the event on behalf of the team and was on hand throughout the day to provide live demonstrations of our smart glasses accessible solution. Year 10 (aged 14 - 15) is the time in most student’s life where thoughts of the future and possible career choices start to become more prominent. How are you getting on with your GCSEs? Will it be sixth form or college? Have you given any thought to university? All this uncertainty and endless questions can feel quite daunting (and in the not too distant past for Ceri as a recent graduate) therefore it was a humbling experience for us to use our story as a source of inspiration for young people.

The Journey of One Thousand Miles

We provided live demonstrations of our tech to the wonderment of both students and staff. It was wonderful to hear the genuine interest and excitement in the students, there is nothing better than seeing people leave more animated than when they came in. The young people were engaged, full of interest and had plenty of questions for Ceri, both about the tech itself and how one might find themselves in a position like hers. Being able to connect to a real person is really important when it comes to inspiring and encouraging people, it can seem more feasible when the person who did it is right in front of you.

Includiverse is very passionate about creating an inclusive environment and one student even commented it was refreshing to see a diverse range of people in the video accompanying the smart glasses. The students were full of ideas on how they could see this working in the real world and indeed within thier own lives, as one student mentioned they already had a strong interest in wearable tech and was excited to see further developments.

 Begins With The First Step
